The items that Joshua had taken out would make any Zerg blush, and the sub-female of Lord Lindsay, Xavier, was feeling embarrassed as he looked at them.
This was happening after the earlier meeting with the father that ended up in discord.
Xavier persuaded his Lord Husband to go upstairs and then called his Zerg offspring to his room, intending to have a talk with him.
Watching Joshua bid farewell to his female Zerg partner who hadnât even married into the family yet and obediently follow him into the bedroom, Xavier cleared his throat, about to speak. But then he saw his cub holding several items from the storage container, items meant to enhance marital intimacy.
âLittle cub, how did you come across these things?â Xavier covered his mouth, very surprised.
He caught a glimpse of a translucent cicada-wing nightgown1The nightgown has a lace pattern that resembles cicada wings! among them, clearly not in the size for his female Zerg. And given his offspringâs obvious affection for that female Zerg earlier, it couldnât possibly be meant for another Zerg. It could only be for his cub himself.
âDid that female Zerg ask you to wear this?â Lord Xavier furrowed his brows, displeasure evident on his typically gentle and feminine face.
A female Zerg should always do his best to show himself in front of male Zerg. Yet, unexpectedly, his cherished cub, who was adored by their entire family, was the one who sought to please herâthat female Zerg, how could he dare!
Joshua: âHow could he? Jun isnât such a shallow Zerg!â He had swung his legs from the edge of the bed. No, he had dangled them a bit teasingly before, but Jun Ye didnât spare him more than a passing glance.
âOh? Then what are these things for?â Xavier was too lazy to argue with his own cub about the superficiality of other Zergs. His gaze fell directly on those marital intimacy items.
He was a very competitive sub-female that knew how to win favor, and he certainly had experience with these things. However, over the years, since the position of Female Monarch had been stabilized, no matter how coquettish those enchanting yet cheap creatures around his Lord Husband tried to be, they couldnât surpass him. So, he hadnât used these little tricks much recently.
Now, looking at all this, it really bringed back memories that he missed.
âMother2So youâll notice that I will refer to Xavier (or any female Zerg) as female father when describing them, however, when someone calls them directly, I think it would be too awkward to use âFemale Fatherâ, so Iâll use âMotherâ instead. I hope itâs not much of a problem! ,â Joshua solemnly placed the items in Xavierâs hands and looked directly into his eyes. âMy happiness in this lifetime depends on you.â
Xavier: â???â
âYou must keep an eye on Father. He definitely has inappropriate intentions towards my beloved Monarch.â Joshuaâs face was filled with anger.
ââŚâ Xavier was speechless. So, the words his cub said in the hallway werenât a joke? But based on his years of observing and understanding his Lord Husband, he had no interest in that female Zerg at all.
Xavier never doubted his ability to discern the preferences of his male Zerg. After all, he had held the position of the Lindsay familyâs master for over a hundred years and he himself had countless times extinguished budding relationships with his thunderous and fiery influence.
Xavier decided to gently explain to his offspring, âLittle cub, your fatherâŚheâs past the age of liking cold and tough military females.â He doesnât like your precious female Zerg.
Joshua didnât believe that preferences were limited by age. Upon hearing that his female father had no intention of helping him, he became anxious and tears welled up in his eyes.
His beloved Jun Ye was so excellent and attractive, captivating all Zergs. And he was particularly fickle! Just walking down the street, as soon as a few male Zergs even slightly more attractive than him appeared, Jun Yeâs gaze would drift away from him. Now his competitor was his own father. As his biological father, the other Zerg was barely half as good-looking as him, but wouldnât he still be able to steal away his husband?
With these thoughts in mind, Joshuaâs tears fell even more profusely.
Xavier hurriedly tried to appease Joshua. He had three children, and the first two were sensible and well-behaved female Zergs who never gave him any worries. His fatherly love had no outlet3This line means that since they were so behaved and mature, he didnât get to play the role of a loving father, while Joshua is a lot more spoiled and relied on him more . Only this youngest male Zerg cub had been nurtured with his own hands!
Seeing his cub cry, Xavierâs fatherly love emerged once again, and he readily agreed to Joshuaâs request.
After soothing him and waiting for Joshua to stop crying, wiping away his tears, Xavier sighed and picked up the translucent cicada-winged nightgown.
What else could he do with his own cubs? Of course he would spoil them.
In the study.
Master Lindsay was flipping through the data of the top hundred compatible females Zergs for Joshua. He firmly believed that his cub had developed such an obsession with a female Zergs because he hadnât seen enough female Zergs. Once he married a few more, he would realize that there were plenty of Zergs better than that one.
Lord Lindsay automatically skipped the female Zerg with the highest compatibility with Joshua. That face reminded him involuntarily of the scene where his cub stood in front of that female Zerg, and that made him mad again.
He had once doubted Jun Yeâs identity. He knew his offspring well. Joshua wasnât particularly clever or sensible, he wasnât the type of Zerg with an insatiable curiosity.
Yet, this was the same cub who managed to sneak past the guards when he took him to the the downtown district for charity work, and coincidentally got saved by that female Zerg named Jun Ye when encountering Zerg traffickers. And it happened that this female had a 100% compatibility match with his own cub.
Lord Lindsay couldnât help but think of conspiracy theories. He had some others investigate Jun Yeâs background. The genes came from the Allianceâs sperm bank. Therefore, there was no male Zerg as a father, and the mother was a female-sub that had died. Female Zergs like that were abundant in the lower district. There was no Zerg in that side that could hold a grudge against the Lindsay Family. And in past decade, Jun Ye hadnât taken any action against the Alliance or the Lindsay Family. So while Lord Lindsay had doubts, he couldnât do anything to the other party.
Well, it wasnât entirely impossible for him to do anything. He could arrange a few female Zergs to be given to his own cub so he could choose from.
Looking at the row of photos and descriptions on the terminal screen, Lord Lindsay was troubled and was starting to have a headache about how many to choose. If he chose too few, there might not be one that suited his cubâs taste. If he chose too many, his offspring might feel overwhelmed and neglect some of them if he couldnât keep up anymore.
As the door to the study was pushed open, Lord Lindsay didnât rush to look at the Zerg entering. There were only two Zergs in the house who didnât need to knock before entering his study: one was his Female Monarch, and the other was his male cub with whom he had just had a quarrel. It was easy to guess who was coming.
When the Zerg closed the door and approached him, Lindsay pulled the terminal screen aside, intending to let Xavier help with the selection. But when he raised his head, he froze.
Before him stood a sub-female Zerg with affectionate eyes, a smile on his lips, his seductive figure outlined by the translucent cicada-winged nightgown. The other leaned down with a gentle smile, embraced his neck, and sat on his lap.
The nightgown was conservative in length, covering from the neck to the ankles. However, the modest style paired with the translucent fabric only fueled Lindsayâs imagination.
Lindsay held the Zergâs waist, his gaze falling on the exposed white and tender skin at the neckline, his eyes growing deeper.
âWhy are you here?â Lindsayâs face remained calm, but his voice was slightly hoarser than usual. Though it was a subtle difference, Xavier, who had once considered Lindsay his ultimate conquest, couldnât miss it.
Xavier didnât answer Lindsayâs question. Instead, he turned his head to look at the data of various female Zergs on the terminal screen and hummed lightly, deliberately asking despite knowing perfectly well the answer, âCould it be that Lord Husband is no longer interested in the mates in your family?â
Then, he lowered his head, sighed and continued, âWell, these females Zergs are all so alluring. I understand if youâre not willing to be served by us old and faded Zergs.â
As Joshuaâs other parent, how could Xavier possibly have never seen the data of potential female matches for his own offspring? It was clear that Xavier was speaking nonsense, and even though Lindsay knew he was faking it, he couldnât bring himself to expose him.
âWhat do you mean, being old and faded?â Lindsay sighed, cupping Xavierâs face with one hand and placing a gentle, tender kiss on his lips. âI have lived for over three hundred years longer than you.â
âBut you no longer touch me and you sleep in another room.â
Lindsayâs eyes flickered as he realized the implication. No, Xavierâs attire had already made his intentions clear despite it being still early. Lindsay lowered his gaze and said, âIâm old, I canât give you eggs anymore.â
âAm I the kind of female Zerg who only cares about eggs?â Xavier leaned closer to Lindsay, pressing against the male Zergâs ear. âLittle Uncle4This is just like âDaddyâ I guessâŚ? I wasnât sure if it wouldâve been better to translate it to Little Husband, but Iâm leaving the original context instead, Iâm sitting on your lap. Why are you pretending to be a proper gentleman?â
The long-lost address caused Lindsay to narrow his eyes. He reached out and pulled the sub-female Zerg to his side, his fingers caressing Xavierâs chin. The sub-female Zerg exuded extreme confidence and pride, just like when they first met.
âYou always get me,â Lindsay chuckled, picking up the sub-female in his arms and walking to the resting couch by the window. He bent down and set him down.
âTell me,â Lindsay said as he took off his own outer garment, leaning over and looking down at the sub-female sprawled on the couch. âWhy are you suddenly interested in seduction in broad daylight?â
âLittle Uncle, itâs because you were looking at other female Zergs indiscriminately,â Xavier replied, lifting his foot and lightly stepping on the middle of Lindsayâs clothes. Xavier licked his lips. It had really been a long time since they were intimate, and he was starting to miss that feeling.
Lindsay grabbed Xavierâs ankle, leaning down with a mix of resignation, indulgence, and⌠something else on his face.
âYou know these are suitable mates for the cub.â
Lindsayâs voice became somewhat muffled.
Xavier stared at the ceiling, blinking rapidly, adjusting his breathing rhythm, and said, âYou knew they were the cubâs mates, yet you still looked!â
Lindsayâs actions paused for a moment as he finally realized that he and his Female Monarch were not discussing the same thing, which he found hard to believe, âYouâre actually feeling jealous without any reason?â
âHmm, hmm.â Xavier hummed soflty, neither admitting nor denying anything. He lifted his foot and ground it on Lindsayâs shoulder, urging him to move faster.
Lindsay chuckled lowly: âYou havenât acted jealous in nearly a hundred yearsâŚâ
Thatâs because you no longer find those outside butterflies and bees attractive, cutting off the main source of rivalry. I can only sit in the position of the Female Monarch and take care of my children. Thereâs no reason to feel jealous anymore.
Of course, Xavier wouldnât say that out loud. If his husband started paying attention to those young and beautiful fairies again, Xavier would be the one crying.
And alsoâŚ
âLord Husband, if you keep dragging your feet like this, Iâll have to arrange for the domestic mechanical Zerg to prepare some nourishing medicine for you.â
Lindsayâs temple throbbed, and upon hearing that, he glared fiercely at Xavier, who had turned into a soft puddle on the couch: âShut up!â
âItâs just because Iâm worried about hurting you. How long has it been since I last explored and indulged you?
.
On the other side, Joshua, who had embarrassedly washed his face and returned to his own bedroom, looked around and immediately blew up.
âWhere did this thing come from?!â Joshua angrily pointed at the single Zerg bed5Itâs a small bed for single Zergs lol where Jun Ye laid.
Considering that there was no one else in the room except for Joshua and himself, Jun Ye assumed that Joshuaâs rude remark was meant to be a question for him. He closed the terminal and maintained a calm expression in sharp contrast to Joshuaâs demeanor. âIt was already here when I arrived. The AI housekeeper requested that I sleep here before your physiological awakening.â
âNo! I donât agree to it!â He had stumbled over his own father spying on his partner. How could he now fall in the clutches of a garbage AI?
Joshua was filled with frustration. âIâm going to wipe its data!â
âCome back,â Jun Ye rubbed his temples, already feeling a slight headache. âIt just asked me to sleep here. It didnât ask anything of you.â
âRight!â Joshua instantly became excited and pretended to be embarrassed. âThis is just a single Zerg bed. Wonât it be too cramped for both of us?â
Jun Ye sneered: âI think youâre quite eager for this?â
If they were engaging in bedroom activities, it would be a different story. At this stage, before Joshuaâs awakening, Jun Ye couldnât believe that Joshua would feel embarrassed about squeezing against him.
Joshua glanced at Jun Ye, who was half-lying on the bed, and shyly lowered his head.
Uuuh, uhm, well, this chapter was, uhm, interesting (*/Ďďźź)
Also, I find it funny how everyone but the head of the Lindsay family gets names⌠Heâs just called Lindsay in the raws haha;
