Gu Jiaoxiu’s eyes remained glued to Jun Ye, a mix of frustration and relief evident.
Frustrated that he had indeed married a mermaid, yet relieved that he didn’t have to go into the sea. More than anything, he anticipated the real mermaid courtship dance.
Now, who would personally perform a mermaid courtship dance?
Jun Ye swayed his fishtail, moving backward. He had researched various versions of mermaid courtship dances on the widely available video-sharing networks.
In essence, the courtship dance was merely a display of one’s body and abilities to captivate the desired partner’s heart.
Under Gu Jiaoxiu’s conflicted gaze, Jun Ye placed his hand behind, unzipping the mermaid skirt.

Being a true mermaid, he didn’t need elaborate performance attire like humans to enhance his charm; his natural appearance was the most beautiful.
The intricate mermaid gown gradually shed under Gu Jiaoxiu’s gaze. Gu Jiaoxiu’s cheeks blazed in an instant, hastily covering his chest and stepping back repeatedly.
Internally, he was both shocked and inexplicably excited.
Why was he undressing so soon? Wasn’t it supposed to be after completing the courtship dance and gaining the partner’s approval?!

Adjusting his breathing, Gu Jiaoxiu tightly covered his pounding heart.
Starting off with such excitement, he feared he wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Jun Ye’s lips curled slightly, lifting his hand to toss the removed skirt towards Gu Jiaoxiu.
Gu Jiaoxiu, in a flurry, pulled down the long skirt covering his head, and two small pieces of fabric followed, falling onto his head. Dazedly, he reached up to grab them.
This texture…

This intricately carved design…
It seemed like something warm was flowing down. Gu Jiaoxiu quickly covered his nose.
At that moment, there was a splash as Jun Ye leaped out of the water.
Gu Jiaoxiu instinctively looked up. In the sunlight, droplets scattered, reflecting dazzling light.
More dazzling than the droplets was the mermaid’s flipping tail, freed from the complexity of clothing. The mermaid’s shiny, long tail, splendid fins, smooth-as-jade skin, and the distinct lines of the shoulders and back – everything laid bare before Gu Jiaoxiu.

This felt like a slow-motion scene. Gu Jiaoxiu’s breath halted, his eyes widening.
It wasn’t until the somersault finished, and the mermaid disappeared into the water that Gu Jiaoxiu regained the ability to breathe, gasping for air.
In a matter of seconds, there was another splash, and Gu Jiaoxiu’s breath halted once again.
This time, it was an aerial somersault, displaying the enchanting and mysterious face of the mermaid, captivating eyes, strong and powerful arms, and the red hue on the chest…
Gu Jiaoxiu felt the warm liquid flow once again.

What should have been an extremely challenging somersault in the courtship dance, abandoned by the majority of humans, became the most basic movement in Jun Ye’s performance.
Each somersault, high or low, coiled or stretched, left Gu Jiaoxiu’s breath suspended, and his heart pounding so hard it felt like it might leap out of his chest.
With only a few seconds of buffering between each somersault, breathing became increasingly difficult.
Gu Jiaoxiu thought he was done for. He was undoubtedly going to be the first human to suffocate to death on the shore due to excitement during a courtship dance.
Just when Gu Jiaoxiu was dizzy from lack of oxygen, he heard a faint splash in front of him.
A powerful arm encircled his waist, his face was cradled, and slightly heavy breaths brushed against his face.
Struggling, Gu Jiaoxiu opened his eyes.
In the sunlight, the blurred mermaid leaned over him.
There was moisture on his lips, something soft and slippery.
Under the gentle licking, Gu Jiaoxiu instinctively opened his mouth, welcoming the invasion of the person on top of him.
Cool and sweet, with a hint of the salty taste of seawater…
He remembered the taste of sashimi.
The kiss ended.
Gu Jiaoxiu almost lay flat on the rock, his gaze unfocused, instinctively gasping for air.
Jun Ye rested on top of Gu Jiaoxiu, his arm supporting against the rock’s surface to avoid pressing down on the rising and falling chest below. His long fishtail swung between Gu Jiaoxiu’s open legs, sweeping through the seawater.
Intermittently, he bit and nibbled on Gu Jiaoxiu’s upper lips, satisfying his desires. Jun Ye reached over and patted Gu Jiaoxiu’s cheek, saying, “Hey, had enough of fainting? Wake up, wake up.”
After being slapped nearly ten times, Gu Jiaoxiu’s gaze gradually focused on Jun Ye’s face. With a hoarse voice, he called, “Luo Sha…”
Jun Ye was somewhat dissatisfied with the name, raising an eyebrow. Propping himself up, he sat on the rock and said with a hint of disdain, “I’ve never seen a human male as fragile as you. You fainted just from sunbathing. Luckily, I know artificial respiration.”
Gu Jiaoxiu, climbing to his feet, opened his mouth to explain that he didn’t faint from sunbathing but closed it after hearing the latter part.
Artificial respiration?
But he had already reacted…
The excitement of having his mermaid partner perform the courtship dance for him was overshadowed by this revelation.
Gu Jiaoxiu wasn’t sure if the mermaid noticed when he was pressed down, so he could only hang his head, using the mermaid skirt in his arms to conceal his body’s reaction.
However, the moment Gu Jiaoxiu thought about the fact that the partner’s skirt covered him, the throbbing sensation became painful.
Gu Jiaoxiu couldn’t resist stealing glances at the merman beside him.
The mermaid, without any clothing, was so beautiful that it was almost impossible to look directly at him.
“Luo Sha” had performed the courtship dance for him, and now… was it time for mating?
Whether it was a kiss or artificial respiration didn’t matter, as long as “Luo Sha” was still his partner, as long as it was with him.
Jun Ye continued to gaze at the distant sea. Suddenly, he turned his head, and Gu Jiaoxiu, feeling guilty, hurriedly lowered his eyes.
However, Jun Ye seemed not to notice anything unusual about Gu Jiaoxiu and asked, “Are you hungry?”
Gu Jiaoxiu stared at Jun Ye’s tail, thinking, “Yes, I’m hungry. I want to eat you.”
In reality, he just nodded gently, afraid to express his desires or make any suggestive movements, enduring the itching feeling inside him.
Gu Jiaoxiu thought the merman would take him back, but instead, the merman leaped back into the sea.
Bubbles and ripples gradually dispersed, and the vast expanse of the sea no longer showed any trace of the merman.
Gu Jiaoxiu pulled his legs to his chest, wrapped his arms around them, and stared at the spot where the merman disappeared.
Had he been abandoned again?
…
Jun Ye swam deeper into the sea.
He thought about finding the most delicious fish for his partner. If Gu Jiaoxiu could eat a fish he had caught himself, it would be wonderful.
Jun Ye didn’t know much about marine life in this area, but he had once tasted a delicious transparent silverfish in the artificial sea at the mermaid pavilion—a slim, semi-transparent fish that moved in groups.
He had seen seabirds emerging from the sea in the distance, seemingly holding a few of these fish in their claws.
With that in mind, he swam faster.
Gu Jiaoxiu’s body had calmed down, and he pressed the mermaid skirt against his chest, anxiously watching the rolling waves and frequently checking the time on the terminal.
It had been over half an hour. As the curator of the mermaid pavilion, Gu Jiaoxiu knew how long an artificial mermaid could stay underwater.
The marine area had been cleared by the Federal Maritime Bureau many times, theoretically free of marine life that could endanger the mermaids.
However, what if “Luo Sha” got lost or tangled in seaweed, unable to break free?
Gu Jiaoxiu stared at the rescue contact number on the terminal. Should he press it?
Splash!
With a loud splash, Gu Jiaoxiu was drenched by the slightly salty seawater.
A shadow cast over him, and Gu Jiaoxiu, both shocked and delighted, looked up. “Luo Sha” was standing in front of him, holding a gigantic transparent silverfish.
Gu Jiaoxiu couldn’t pay much attention to the fish. Maybe he hadn’t been abandoned after all, and their current position was a bit awkward…
The slightly raised scales on the merman’s forehead were so close to him.
Gu Jiaoxiu held his breath.
It wasn’t until “Luo Sha” bent down to hand him the fish that Gu Jiaoxiu realized their awkward posture.
Jun Ye, propped up on his upper body, half-leaned on the rock, and said calmly, “Eat.”
So saying, Jun Ye’s eyes were fixed on Gu Jiaoxiu’s body, and his tail flicked urgently as if urging something.
Jun Ye’s consciousness told him that as long as the other ate the fish he caught, it meant agreeing to be together for life.
Perhaps this was the most crucial step in mermaid courtship.
Hurry up and eat. Once you’ve eaten my fish, we’ll mate.
Gu Jiaoxiu forced himself to shift his gaze away from the seductive merman beside him, looking at the extremely long silverfish in his hands, unsure how to start eating.
This fish was too big and long, almost the length of his entire arm, far exceeding the typical silverfish he had seen before.
Do mermaids catch longer fish than regular ones?
Seeing Gu Jiaoxiu hesitating, Jun Ye impatiently slapped the seawater with his tail.
Why not eat? Don’t you like the fish I caught?
Thinking this, Jun Ye sat up, intending to catch an even more delicious and rare fish.
Gu Jiaoxiu, seeing Jun Ye getting up, thought that the merman had noticed him peeking at his tail. He quickly lowered his eyes, pretending to be seriously eating the fish.
Jun Ye stopped thinking about going into the water again, satisfied with watching Gu Jiaoxiu gnaw on the fish he caught.
After a while, unable to resist, he took the fish that had been chewed beyond recognition, tore it into strips again, and fed them to Gu Jiaoxiu one by one.
After finishing two strips, Gu Jiaoxiu subconsciously touched his stomach.
He was full, but his partner was still tearing fish, and the fish tasted fantastic.
The fish his partner caught, he had to eat it all.
Jun Ye tore off another strip, and Gu Jiaoxiu opened his mouth, waiting for the feed. However, the merman ignored him, continuing to tear one strip after another.
Gu Jiaoxiu reluctantly closed his mouth, unsure whether to ask the merman for another strip or not. Then, the merman took the torn fish strips, bundled them together into a knot, and placed them on another rock.
Swimming back from the adjacent rock, Gu Jiaoxiu called out uncertainly, “Luo Sha?”
Jun Ye looked up from the sea with a satisfied smile.
Gu Jiaoxiu had a bad feeling, as if a debt collector had come to collect a debt.
Then, he was dragged into the water by the merman, catching him completely off guard. By the time he realized what was happening, he was already splashing in the water.
Gu Jiaoxiu trembled as he swam with his arms and legs, desperately clinging to Jun Ye. He realized that Jun Ye had deliberately taken him much farther away; there was at least a meter between him and the rock!
Panic and helplessness turned into a strong grip on the merman’s waist.
Jun Ye’s hands began to explore underwater, realizing that this position wasn’t conducive to removing the pants. So, he used his fingertips to make a cut on the back of Gu Jiaoxiu’s pants and tore them open along the marks.
Gu Jiaoxiu felt a chill behind him as the merman’s hands reached his skin…
“!!!”
It was clear what the other party intended to do. Gu Jiaoxiu struggled violently, “No! Luo Sha! You… you’ve already topped me once! For the sake of fairness… ugh!!”
Jun Ye, attempting to poke, found Gu Jiaoxiu’s face turning as red as coral.
“I don’t like you calling me ‘Luo Sha’,” Jun Ye said with a stern expression, pinching Gu Jiaoxiu’s jaw, “From now on, call me ‘husband.’ If you say it wrong once, you’ll be a meter away from the rock.”
Gu Jiaoxiu pursed his lips, gazing at Jun Ye with a pleading look.
Jun Ye remained unfazed, and his fingers continued their activities underwater.
One finger, Gu Jiaoxiu glared angrily at Jun Ye, twisting and yelling, refusing to mention the words ‘Luo Sha’ or ‘husband.’
Two fingers, Gu Jiaoxiu, no longer struggling, lay on Jun Ye’s shoulder, panting heavily, only obstructing with muscle contractions.
Three fingers…
“Enough, enough! Are you trying to kill me?!” Gu Jiaoxiu yelled, his face red and neck thick. “If you don’t finish quickly, I’ll die!”
Jun Ye nodded in agreement, and the remaining hand patted Gu Jiaoxiu’s buttocks to signal him to calm down.
…
Gu Jiaoxiu sniffed aggrievedly, pretending to be dead while lying on Jun Ye’s shoulder.
It was just a little poke, so what? It’s not like I haven’t been poked before. What’s there to be afraid of!
Jun Ye, holding Gu Jiaoxiu’s legs, embraced him from below.
Gu Jiaoxiu’s breath was somewhat rapid, and even his eyelashes trembled as he made soft moaning sounds.
At this moment, he vaguely heard a commotion.
Initially, he thought he might be getting muddled by the merman, experiencing auditory hallucinations. It took a while for him to realize that people were indeed conversing, accompanied by the sound of splashing water.
Gu Jiaoxiu jolted.
Jun Ye also, affected by the tight squeeze, involuntarily took a breath and turned his head. Annoyed, he bit Gu Jiaoxiu’s face.
Gu Jiaoxiu quickly turned his head, colliding with Jun Ye’s lips, his words sounding like gibberish.
—Stop! Someone is coming!
Jun Ye, biting Gu Jiaoxiu’s lip, sucked on it lightly, making Gu Jiaoxiu wide-eyed. He then casually said, “It’s okay, they can’t get over here.”
Those mermaids can’t swim this far.
Jun Ye added, “Continue.”
“Ugh…” Gu Jiaoxiu hastily bit his lip, nervously turning to look. Through the uneven rocks, he could see a crowd gradually gathering on the distant beach.
The mermaid showed no intention of stopping; instead, he swung his tail more vigorously. Gu Jiaoxiu could only suppress his voice, sealing it in his throat.
“Ugh…” I bite my lip.
“Wu…” I grit my teeth.
“Hmm hmm…” I bite the merman.
“Wu, ah, ah!” I’ll bite you, this piece of sashimi!
…
Lick again, don’t break the skin…
…
…
“A breathtaking mermaid leaped from the sea, scales shimmering like blue gemstones, and the tail fluttered like a moonlight dress. It was the most beautiful mermaid courtship dance in the world.”
“The mermaid floated on the sea surface, shaking his even more beautiful fish tail, and presented the captured Silverfish Emperor to the military officer.”
“The mermaid extended his hand to the military officer, and they embraced in the seawater…” Gu Jiaoxiu solemnly closed the story book about the omnivorous mermaid.
The little mermaids, lying on the inflatable jellyfish, blinked their innocent eyes at him.
Smiling at them, Gu Jiaoxiu said, “The story ends here. It’s time for you to have dinner.”
“But, curator, what about the beautiful mermaid and the military officer’s final ending? Did they live happily together?” The little mermaids blinked their inquisitive eyes at Gu Jiaoxiu.
Looking up, Gu Jiaoxiu glanced at the entrance of the pool, where the tall and elegant merman with a blue dress tail leaned. He smiled at the little mermaids and nodded, “In the end, they lived happily together.”
“Great!”
The little mermaids joyfully jumped off the inflatable jellyfish and swam to the edge of the pool.
As for their curator?
The curator always had to wait until the coach came to pick him up from the gigantic, enormous, colossal inflatable jellyfish.
The little mermaids climbed ashore, holding hands and swaying their tails. When they slid to the door, they bowed seriously, saying in unison, “Hello, coach!”
Jun Ye nodded in response. After the little ones left, he leisurely swam towards Gu Jiaoxiu, who was trapped in the middle of the pool.
A bit abrupt but we’re basically reaching the end of this arc! It went by so quickly :’(
