Counter Attack Chapter 31

\n
It was 8 plus in the morning, Wu was driving a delivery truck out of the electrical factory.
After the new year break, workers were returning from their hometowns to the city, the road became congested again. He was stuck at a traffic light, seeing few repetitions of the traffic lights yet he couldn't get past the traffic lights.
Wu was staring at the car beside him, he couldn't differentiate the colors of the lights so he could only follow the other cars.
On the other hand, Chi had just changed to the traffic control department. He didn't need to do much, just patrolling around and managing the flow of traffic during peak hours. Today was his first day of work, dressed rather splendidly. He stood at the junction and his eyes browsed through the roads, there wasn't anyone who dared to break the laws.
Wu's truck was inching towards the traffic light at this very junction, he was less than 200 metres from the traffic light, he should be able to cross the junction after a few rounds. Wu's hands were gripping onto the steering wheel tightly, eyes pinned on the car beside him. He was praying hard in his heart, please be careful, please don't run through a red light...
As he was thinking, Wu suddenly saw a familiar figure by the road, his heart went cold. What the hell! Are you kidding me? Why does he look like the bald guy? Wu squinted his eyes to focus on the man, but Chi was lost within the stream of cars and was gone by the next second. Wu patted his chest, calming himself down.
'It's impossible, it must be an illusion. How could there be such coincidence? Why do I always bump into him?'
'It must be trauma from the last two incidents, now I see every bald guy as him.'
'.....'
Suddenly, the car beside started to drive, Wu stepped on the throttle and zoomed to the opposite junction.
The first lawbreaker appeared, giving hope to policemen whose pockets were empty. They chase after Wu's truck like hungry hyenas, fighting to issue a fine.
'What did I do wrong?' Wu asked.
A traffic policeman pointed upwards, 'You ran through a red light.'
'It's impossible!' Wu objected confidentially, 'I drove along with the car beside me!'
Someone immediately shouted, 'He ran through the red light!'
Wu noticed the car that he has been following was surrounded by several police cars too.
Why am I so blind? Wu was vexed, I followed a car who broke the law!
'Why did you look at other cars when you could see the traffic lights?'
'Are you drunk?'
'Get down, give me your driving license!'
Wu tightened his fists, his eyes were hollow and dull, looking solemn.
There was a space in between a stream of cars appeared in front of him, Wu shoved the truck right into it with much skills and accuracy.
'Chi, there's a guy abide law enforcement.'
When Chi looked towards there, Wu was trying to escape.
Chi ran sprinted and took out his baton, the baton spun a few times in the air before landing on the rear window of Wu's truck. Wu didn't have the chance to response, he just heard a loud bang followed by shards of glass and an unknown material flew to the passenger seat beside him.
Wu's limbs turned cold, he stepped on the brake almost immediately.
A robust figure came into sight.
After looking at Chi's face, Wu's head almost banged onto the rear window.
What in the actual fuck!
Did I owe you something in my past life?
I lowered my dignity and become a vendor, you destroyed my store as a city council! I gathered my courage to become a street artist, you purposely caused trouble! I started over to be a thief, you became a policeman! I secretly became a delivery guy, you threw a baton to block my way...
Plus, WHY IS IT ALWAYS ON MY FIRST DAY OF WORK!
Can't you make it another day?!
Can't you let me work in peace for at least two days?!
......
Chi acted as if he didn't know Wu.
'Fine or cooperate with us, choose one.'
Do I still need to choose? Wu didn't have any cash on him, he went down the car quickly.
No one would have guessed what mission Chi gave to Wu, Wu even had the thought of killing him. Not sure where did Chi get two masks, a red on and a green one. He made Wu stand on the pedestrian crossing; when the light turns red then wear the red mask, when the light turns green wear the green one.
It's a huge challenge for Wu as a color blind.
He was afraid that Chi found out he was color blind, and his punishment would be greater, so he memorized. The green mask in on his left, the red one on his right, then he used the 'walking man' to determine which color should the lights be.
For the whole day, Wu was standing at the junction raising masks, suffered from mockery and humiliation.
His brain only remembered a sentence.
'Man walk, left; man stop, right...'
Chi's deep-set gaze was staring at Wu, he couldn't get it too. Why does he always get caught by me? Is it on purpose? Or he wanted to be punished with the unspoken rules? But he looked so cynical and lofty, couldn't be.
It was getting dark, it's time to change shifts.
Chi noticed Wu was tired too, he told him to stop.
Wu's arms felt like they had detached from his body.
When Chi was about to 'take care' of Wu, a sweet voice fluttered to his ears. No need to say, it must be Yue Yue whom he has been doting. The other policemen were jealous about it, as expected from a rich man! He could attract beautiful ladies with a call.
'Why did you come?' Chi asked casually.
Yue Yue replied boastfully, 'I'm afraid I couldn't see you again after you had left.'
Wu was frozen, his gaze was void as if he had been possessed.
He saw Yue Yue, he saw Yue Yue hugging Chi's arm too, then kissed him on his cheeks.
He also heard the cheering from the others.
He suddenly understood why Chi was always picking on him.
This is the most lethal blow!
Wu didn't shout at them but rather walked to his truck with an unusual silence.
I must take revenge! \n
