Sheâs been immersed in making clothes lately, and at last, her efforts finally bore fruit.
âMiss Platy! Please try this spring-themed frilly fishtail skirt I made just for you!!!â
âHuh? For me?!â
Platy was baffled by Batemyâs sudden approach.
Even the skirt has quite the flashy name!
âI purposely made the hem length asymmetrical to imitate the sea waves, befitting of a mermaid princess such as Miss Platy! I created a flowy line after measuring her hip size, also making it look very trendy! And to match the color of her top, I went with blue, just like the color of the sea, Miss Platyâs hometown!!!â
Yep. I donât get most of what sheâs talking about. But I can at least tell that sheâs extremely enthusiastic about all of this.
ââŠIt feels refreshing and comfortable when worn. Even its design is very stylish. This is the first time I feel smartly dressed ever since I lived here!â
âAllll right! I got Miss Platyâs seal of approval!â
Batemy raised her hands in great delight.
It does feel great to have your efforts rewarded.
âBut if possible, Iâd like you to make the next one easier to move in when working.â
âOops.â
True, itâs hard to move around in a skirt.
However, with this, we are now able to produce stylish clothes that are well-received by the young generation!
Hooray for progress!
âHmmâŠâ
For some reason or another, Veil, a bystander just like me, is making a difficult face.
âWhatâs wrong, Veil? Are you jealous because Platy is the only one who gets to wear stylish clothes?â
âNo way. Hey Master, the fabric used to make her clothes is from the thread those disgusting bugs spewed, isnât it?â
Hey, donât call them disgusting, thatâs mean.
Sure, the materials used to make the skirt are made from the thread spewed by those monster bugs I got from the dungeon weaved into silk, but what of it?
Its silky finish is so beautiful, even Iâm impressed by the finished product!
ââŠDragon fireball.â
Veil ignited a ball of fire as large as a baseball from her fingertip.
Is that magic?
âHyah!â
She flung the fireball from her fingertip to Platyâs skirt.
It was a direct hit.
âHuuuuuuuuuuuuh?!â
What are you doing, you stupid dragon?!
Do you hate the fact that Platy is the only stylish one here that much?!
âDonât panic, Master. I adjusted my power. Look.â
âHuh?!â
The skirt was inflicted with crimson red flames, but it repelled the flames before it even had the chance to spread.
âWhat?!â
The flames have completely dispersed now, but not a single burn mark was left on the skirt.
âAs I thought. Its cloth has an exceptional anti-magic affinity to it.â
âHuh?â
âI bet it has high defense too. Far superior than its armor counterparts. If this really is the effect of the thread spewed by that bug, then Master has amazing taste.â
Donât look at me, I know nothing about that.
I simply hoped to make silk out of the thread spewed by the caterpillar.
As expected of monster bugs in a fantasy world. They even went as far as adding a practical attribute as a special bonus.
âThat canât be.â
Oh, a retort from Platy?
âIf they were able to spew such durable thread in the first place, we wouldnât be thinking so lowly of them!â
âThen how else are you going to explain the high defensive power your skirt has?â
âThis is just my guess, but didnât Orkubo and the others mutated into Warrior Orcs and Spartan Goblins the moment Dear interacted with them?â
Ah.
âSo, those bugs mustâve mutated as well after Master raised them with great care, changing the quality of thread they spew.â
âBut that drastic?â
âŠDid I just create yet another new species?!
After that, I experimented on the remaining fabric myself. It seems this mutated-silkworm-monster fabric is so durable, neither normal attacks nor magic work on it.
âThis marks the birth of a legendary-class armor!!!â
âItâs fashion, not armor!!!â
The seamstress, Batemy, protested, but it doesnât change the fact that this is quite a big deal.
Originally, this silkworm monster had an existence so insignificant, the humans didnât bother naming it, but I decided to give its mutated variant a name this time. Itâs a species that never had a name to begin with, so just naming its variant is unfair. And plus, I have all the naming rights since Iâm the one who mutated them.
The thread they spew is white and sparkly and has the durability of steel. They look just like diamond, so Iâm naming them âAdamantine Silkwormsâ and the fabric will be called âAdamantine Silk.â
Anyway, Iâm just happy that Platy can wear stylish clothes now.
But I also saw Veil with an annoyed look on her face. I guess she really is jealous.
âMaster! Itâs unfair how Platy gets all the attention! Do something for me too!â
Even if you tell me that, youâre a dragon, the strongest species there is, thereâs nothing in particular that I can do for youâŠ
âAre you saying my flawlessness is a flaw in itself?! Damn it!!!â
Thereâs nothing else I could do, so I ruffled Veilâs hair for some time.
Surprisingly enough, she doesnât seem displeased by it. While she was being petted, she smiled with her whole face and made purring noises.
