Dungeon 2 part 3\n
The current location was the seventh dungeon level.\n
âLooks like the two of you have gotten really close during the time I was away, huh?â\n
My brother was staring at me. Specifically, he was staring at my hand.\n
Howard and I were holding hands.\n
âLady Charlotte said that it was okay to call me âbig brotherâ sometimes!â\n
Howard was rejoicing in high spirits.\n
The dislike I had felt towards Howard had mysteriously disappeared. Rather, his likability was now increasing.\n
âCharlâŠdid you really say that?â\n
âYes. I am very grateful to Howard-sama for his help, so Iâm willing to do at least this much if it makes him happy.â I said with a smile.\n
My brother still had a strange, uncertain look on his face.\n
âHeyâŠCharlotte.â\n
âWhat is it?â\n
âIn that case, can I tell Ricardo about this?â\n
My brother pointed to my and Howardsâ hands which were still connected.\n
âWhyâŠ? We are like brother and sister soâŠ\n
WhyâŠhuhâŠ?\n
But arenât Howard and I like strangersâŠ?\n
Weird!\n
Itâs weird that weâre holding hands!\n
I quickly shake off Howardâs hand.\n
âOh, Brother! Itâs a misunderstanding! Ricardo-sama doesnât have toâ!â\n
I was in a panic.\n
Iâm glad. Iâm glad he woke me up from that strange dreamâŠ\n
My brother finally smiled like usual.\n
âHuh? Is there a problem, Lady Charlotte?â\n
Howard raised his eyebrows in confusion.\n
âI guess she woke up. That sure was a fleeting dream you had, huh Howard?â\n
My brother narrowed his eyes and twisted his mouth as he hit Howard on the shoulder.\n
I really donât know what got into meâŠ\n
If it wasnât for BrotherâŠI feel like I would have made a lot more mistakes.\n
I thought about it for a while, and then I remembered something.\n
AhâŠI see.\n
It was the âsuspension bridge effect.â\n
A psychological effect that makes it easier to develop romantic feelings for someone who has experienced fear or anxiety along with you.\n
I didnât have any romantic feelings for Howard, but I did instantly forgive him for what he did to me.\n
âŠThat was a close one. I could have been fooled.\n
I hugged my brother.\n
âBrother. Thank you for waking me up!â\n
âItâs because it wasnât normal for Charlotte to be so obedient with Howard.â\n
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a shocked HowardâŠbut I decided not to worry about it.\n
I donât know if the suspension bridge effect was still in effect, but there was no feeling of disgust or rejection.\n
Still, I just donât want to get close to him, so I wonât. Thatâs all.\n
***\n
âWellâŠnow that Charlotte is back to normal, it time to get back to reality.â\n
âOkay.â\n
We were currently surrounded by a super strong barrier.\n
Iâll say it once more, because itâs important.\n
âOur surroundings are protected by a super-powerful barrier.â\n
Why is that?\n
ââŠFather!?!â\n
I yelled loudly.\n
What is this scene that looks the same as the fifth dungeon level!?\n
It was like that time when the number of enemies kept increasing, and carnivorous plants were dancing around our barrier.\n
Right in front of me was a âKiller Plant (Revised)â (***T/N: The âRevisedâ part can also mean âmodifiedâ or the ânew version.â Kind of like how we would name something Version â2.0â)\n
I wonder who named it âRevisedââŠ?\n
Itâs a name that made it sound like some kind of robot.\n
Painful adults can really be fond everywhereâŠ\n
âBut thatâs not the point!\n
The Killer Plant (Revised) was the evolution of the Killer Plant.\n
Killer Plants were nasty demon beasts that swallowed their prey and dissolved them in their own digestive juices. They used a seed machine gun and if they were attacked poorly, they would split up and start moving.\n
When they evolved and got the âRevisedâ added to their name, the killer plants, which had once moved individually, would suddenly become as intelligent as infants and begin acting in groups. They would also begin to use magic such as âconfusionâ and âhallucination,â making them even more troublesome.\n
Right before my eyes, a surreal scene was unfolding, as âkiller plants (revised)â began dancing around like some kind of pantomime.\n
The increase in the number of Killer Plants (Revised) was, once again, the work of Father and the others.\n
This time, they had let us know in advance that they wanted to collect magic stones, probably because of my previous punishment.\n
My brother and I had agreed to it.\n
âŠBut that was on the condition that they would not go overboard and practice in moderation.\n
This was even more than last timeâŠit was beyond that time on the jungle level.\n
They couldnât even endure it for one week!!\n
Did they not even reflect on their actions!?\n
Do you want to be scorched again?\n
âŠOr would you rather be baked and seared?\n
Ufufufu\n
Or even better, do you want me to drop down a meteorite on it and make everything disappear in an unpredictable natural phenomenon?\n
ââŠCharlotte. Your face is scary.â\n
âLucasâŠthere are two Lucasâs!â\n
Itâs Demon Lord Lucas!!\n
His face is scary to begin with!\n
It was all because of the adults.\n
âBrother. Iâm nearly at the end of my patienceâŠâ\n
Adults who never learn.\n
NoâŠeven if they do learn, it might still end up the same.\n
âYeah. I thought so.â\n
âCan I kill them?â\n
âNo, donât kill them. Just do enough to keep them alive.â\n
My older brotherâs eyes were not smiling as he happily cautioned me.\n
âThe rearguardâŠLady Charlotte is going to attack?â\n
Howardâs eyes sparkled with happiness as he looked at me.\n
âYes, since I donât have any other choice.â\n
I smiled and nodded.\n
As I was doing this, the killer plant (revised) started to play âDaruma-san ga Korondaâ*** (***T/N: This is basically a japanese version of the game âred light green lightâ with a few minor differences)\n
âI cut it!âNot!â\n
The killer plant (revised) ran away in pieces.\n
I thought it was a little cuteâŠ\n
HoweverâŠI decided to close my heart and eradicate it!\n
It may look cute, but itâs still a dangerous demon beast.\n
How should I attack this time?\n
It was a plant-based demon beast, so I could probably use the same flames as last time.\n
But doing that wouldnât punish Father and the others, would it?\n
Yeah. Doing the same thing is boring.\n
I would have to make them reflect on their actions.\n
