I drove my car to the foot of the mountain. The solid barrier built in a circle at the foot of the mountain is, of course, proof of Masaru’s hard work.
I’m sorry about the gates….. that I never ended up using, placed on the east, west, north, and south sides.
There are three figures waiting in front of the gate. The two behind were gaping at the sight of me, or rather, the ATV I was riding.
I guess they are not familiar with these machines since they used to use horse-drawn carriages.
I got out of the ATV after a sufficient amount of time.
Magami, who was supposed to be here first, seemed to be hiding behind a tree. He seemed to have taken care not to scare the guests. I’ll give him a fluff later.
The road was connected to the gate at the same time as the barrier was put up, but basically, trees grow as they please inside these walls. There is no shortage of places to hide because the road is immediately surrounded by forest.
Well, Lindia-san seems to be aware of him.
“Thank you for taking the time to invite us. And you, too, I suppose.”
The word “android” seems to have been omitted, but I got the message. I shrug my shoulders in reply.
“Excuse me. My name is Lindir, and I am from the Foothandle, which is located south of here. I look forward to working with you.”
“Thank you for your time. By the way, I haven’t introduced myself yet. My name is Kibitsu. I’m the owner of this site. It’s nice to meet you.”
For starters, you have to be polite as a member of society.
“My name is Alf. I’ve been assigned by Master Fox to escort Lady Lindia.”
“Bate”
The two men behind her also greeted me. The man who introduced himself as Alf was wearing armor and holding a long-handled weapon that looked like a halberd. Bate has a sword hanging from his waist and a bow and arrow on his back. Where’s the fantasy in that?
Alf shows his reluctance to do what Lindia-san told him to do, and he’s not afraid to show it. In fact, I’ve heard their conversations on the way here, and Alf is the epitome of someone who somehow thinks they’re unconditionally superior. Bate seems to be a mute character, and almost never speaks.
“There is no need for LadyLindia to bow to those who dwell in such an unknown place! I’ll just smash his head with my battleaxe as soon as he arrives, and then we can investigate this place!”
I thought about turning around halfway through.
Lindia strongly discouraged him, and he shut up, but the look on his face as he stared at me was very hostile.
“Well, let’s continue with the story. I’m sorry that I can’t invite you to my home yet, because I’m not in the mood to do so.”
I’ll imply that I heard the conversation earlier.
“Of course. I’m sorry for coming on such short notice without any gifts.”
When I told her that she couldn’t enter my house, she preempted Alf, who looked indignant.
He was rude, and so was I.
You’re a very considerate person…. Oh, you’re not a human being.
“And??”
I think I got my message across, so now I’m going to let them take their turn. There’s not much for me to say.
Then, Lindia-san, restraining the duo with her hand as they came closer to us. I guess the subordinates who flies around with hostility are in the way.
“There are two purposes for my visit today… Firstly Is to greet you. One of our survey team found this place the other day and rushed to report it….”
“In this day and age, you’d be surprised what you can find here if you didn’t know.”
“Yes. And if there really is someone who has come to reason, I would like to say hello first.”
“You’re too polite.”
One of the objectives is complete. That means the second, or rather the main one, is about to begin.
“Secondly, if possible, we would like to ask you to help us in our activities.”
“….For what?”
“For the development of humanity”
Suddenly the story is too big.
“By the way….. how much do you know about the reality of this world?”
“So much so that…. is the first time since the world changed that I’ve seen people who can at least reason in the flesh.”
“I suppose so, since they are not born of nature.”
A short distance MOUSE that came flying in to connect to the words.
Androids don’t talk in private because this is what they are mostly equipped to do.
So, if she used this, it means that it’s a story that she doesn’t want the two people behind her to hear.
“Then where did you start? I’d like to ask.”
If it’s not natural born, then the answer seems obvious, but the important part is beyond that.
“Over the years, we have discovered a way to bring back reason to the violent, mutated human beings. And the descendants of those humans, that’s who they are.”
“Born again? You took a mutated human and put it back together?”
“No. Genetic transformation was necessary to give the mutated humans reason.”
“That means…”
“They are clones created from modified cells obtained from mutated humans. That’s their ancestor.”
You do amazing things. How is that ethical? Is it okay because the original is going crazy? Hmm, I don’t know.
“We seven androids have created a number of clones, educated them, and given them a civilization even though they are still immature. This is how the first settlement was established. More than 600 years have passed since then, and we continue to work with the goal of creating a nation of humanity once again!”
It’s totally an invitation to join a shady religious group if you haven’t seen the two guys behind her.
“It was 184 years ago that our leader, Billion(Birion), founded the new nation of the Holy Church of Sunrise, pushed by the new humanity.”
“That’s a very fancy name.”
“I’ve heard that it was meant to bring a new sunrise from the book of the Rising Sun.”
“…..Are you sure?”
“To this day, we’ve been battling ferocious beasts and slowly expanding the areas inhabited by humans.”
It seems the secret talk is over.
“Foothandle, south of the city, is that correct? Since when?”
“It was finally completed five years ago and is now functioning as a city. Unlike here, though, it is completely made of stone.”
“Quite a while ago.”
“Yes. In order to ensure safety, we have organized an armed team to conduct a regular survey of the surrounding area. When I heard about the survey team, I couldn’t hide my excitement. I had no idea such a place existed. With your help, we will be able to make much more progress in the future. What do you think, Kibitsu-sama? Won’t you join hands with us?”
Smiling and extending her hand, Lindia-san thought that she was honestly beautiful.
There is no one who is not fascinated by this embodiment of beauty, and no one can help but take it in hand.
