While Liu Yu’an is distracted by WeChat, Shao Yanxi was also curious because of the phone call and also sits next to him, taking a look.
When he sees a comment reading ‘Mr. Shao didn’t even follow LYA. His account is probably stolen,’ he furrows his brows and leaves the hand Liu Yu’an has put around his waist to go get his phone from his briefcase.
——It’s not in his pockets because he’s still wearing the T-shirt and pants Liu Yu’an bought for him, with pockets too shallow for his phone.
“What’s wrong?” Liu Yu’an can feel him leaving, of course, and asks.
“Get my phone.”
Liu Yu’an looks towards where he is going, and asks, “in the briefcase?”
“Yeah.”
Shao Yanxi gets his phone out and then puts the briefcase onto the coffee table in front of them, before naturally going back to Liu Yu’an’s embrace and leaning on him.
Liu Yu’an is still distracted with WeChat and locks his hand around Shao Yanxi instinctively. Shao Yanxi then adjusts his posture until he finds a comfortable one, before logging onto WeChat on his main account.
He actually follows Liu Yu’an on his main account as well, but it is hidden from the public. He makes it public so that the system would update and show that.
Liu Yu’an then hears the special notification he set for Shao Yanxi’s main account, to see that he has followed him, and smiles.
He saw the comment Shao Yanxi saw as well, but he didn’t really mind, though Shao Yanxi is clearly more perturbed than he as.
He can’t help but feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Liu Yu’an kisses Shao Yanxi’s ears and is getting ready for some excitement, when the door is knocked.
Liu Yu’an “…”
Oh, great, again?!
He opens the door to find Xiao-Zhang outside. He is carrying sweets.
Oh, right, he told him to buy sweets.
He thanks him then slams the door shut without hesitation.
Xiao-Zhang “…”
He’s not one to pry, but with the curtains shut in the middle of the day and panicky movements; they’re doing it in the middle of the day?
And An-ge, fine, but even Mr. Shao is…
Xiao-Zhang is having a mental breakdown inside but leaves the hotel with his usual poker face, as he is still residing in the hotel the production team booked before.
Meanwhile, Liu Yu’an gives up on his little attempt at a venture and opens the curtains back up, and opens the balcony door.
Liu Yu’an then continues working through the files while taking occasional peeks at Shao Yanxi, who sometimes stuffs a sweet into his mouth when he notices him looking as well.
And then the phone goes ringing again.
Resigned, Liu Yu’an picks up his phone to find the caller is actually He Chengzhou, that owner of the One Emporium. Why is he calling now.
Well, at least it’s definitely not going to be about him and Shao Yanxi for a change. He knew about them marrying in the very beginning.
He picks up the phone after looking up at the ceiling and sighing.
“Hello? Is this xiao-Liu?”
“Uncle He, what is it?” Liu Yu’an then looks towards Shao Yanxi, and he whispers while holding the voice receiving end tight, “He Chengzhou.”
“He Chengzhou?” It takes Shao Yanxi a while to recall who he is, “the owner of a fashion brand, isn’t he?”
Liu Yu’an nods.
Meanwhile, He Chengzhou is going on with the business greeting and formalities in the phone for a bit before finally saying that they’re planning to release their brand’s winter line ad they shot with Liu Yu’an as the model earlier, and is asking if he is alright with that.
Liu Yu’an “…”
The celebrity being asked for permission from the owner of their contracted employer is probably a one-and-only thing for him alone. Usually wouldn’t they make the decision and then inform his agent out of courtesy? Or does he want to suck up to Shao Yanxi that desperately?
Well, maybe they are that desperate to suck up to him.
Liu Yu’an then replies, “of course, please release it whenever it is convenient for you; I only ask that you inform my agent when you do so. We will do our part to promote it then.”
“Alright, alright, I’m relieved to hear that,” while He Chengzhou is joyous, it is still a bit unnatural in tone. Then, he asks if Liu Yu’an might be free some time to have a meal together.
Liu Yu’an says, “I’m still at work for now. I’ll remember to treat uncle He when I’m free some time?”
A polite declination that He Chengzhou could also understand, then a few more cordial formalities later they finally hang up.
Soon after, the latest ad from the One Emporium’s winter line of clothes climbs up onto Trending, and Liu Yu’an is also forced offline, probably from Ren Jianzhang and the team logging onto it.
As expected, ‘he’ has shared the One Emporium’s promotion post soon enough. And, whether from bots or fans or just passers-by, his share and repost have got a hundred thousand likes, shares and replies soon enough. Unimaginable for the past Liu Yu’an.
“You’re getting popular,” Shao Yanxi says, scrolling past the comments still increasing at dozens per second, while drinking his bubble tea.
“How so?” Liu Yu’an raises his brow, and asks casually, while still looking at his phone, seemingly genuinely uncaring.
The casual mood makes Shao Yanxi too relaxed and answers without a second thought, “the number of new comments are no…”
Suddenly he stops, realising what’s happening, and sees Liu Yu’an looking at him with what seems like a smile, asking, “how do you know about that?”
Obviously, our CEO here is too busy to browse entertainment news. Normally, that is.
Here though he’s probably in deeper than Liu Yu’an who is in the entertainment industry himself.
Shao Yanxi blushes a bit and sips his bubble tea a few times before saying, “assistant He said it.”
“Oh?” Liu Yu’an is looking at Shao Yanxi, who wouldn’t look him in the eye, “then he really is pretty well-informed for an assistant.”
“Yes, he’s really capable.”
“True,” Liu Yu’an continues, “really good at taking the fall, for example.”
Shao Yanxi “…”
Liu Yu’an asks, “well?”
“Nevermind,” Shao Yanxi has finished his bubble tea now, then mutters, “I’m still going to go work,” and enters the other room in their suite.
Liu Yu’an “…” He decides to lie down on the chair on the balcony while enjoying the view for a little while. There are black geese in the pond enjoying each other’s company in the lake right now. Life is good.
A bit later, Liu Yu’an heads back inside, into the other room, to walk right in on Shao ‘busy with work’ Yanxi scrolling WeChat.
Liu Yu’an “…”
Didn’t his mother and the secretaries in Shao Yanxi’s company say that he worked 366 days every year from 8 to midnight without missing a single second?
Did someone transmigrate into Shao Yanxi in the meantime, perhaps?
Liu Yu’an is taking light steps that are fully absorbed by the thick carpeting, and Shao Yanxi is too engrossed in his browsing that he only notices when Liu Yu’an is right besides him.
“You’re back,” he says, seemingly calmly but very quickly putting his phone under his leg and sitting on it.
“…” Liu Yu’an says, “don’t worry, I won’t look.”
“Why did you come in?” As if he didn’t hear what he just said, Shao Yanxi asks again.
Liu Yu’an can’t help but smile. He doesn’t bust him, and says, “I just miss you.”
Shao Yanxi is building up an immunity to the endless teases from Liu Yu’an now, and asks without so much as blushing, “want to take a rest? Or we can get back to work if you don’t want to?” And he holds out a pile of documents from the briefcase.
Liu Yu’an goes ‘ho,’ then obediently goes through them for him.
After an afternoon, there’s finally only a small amount of documents left.
Shao Yanxi has the assistant send the documents dealt with back to the company before staying behind to spend some time together with Liu Yu’an.
After dinner, they’re outside to take a walk. As a freshly popular celebrity, Liu Yu’an clearly lacks self-awareness, ending up with the two of them blanking out when they see the wave of reporters outside the hotel.
Liu Yu’an then quickly reacts and blocks Shao Yanxi’s face, dragging him back into the hotel.
He’s an actor, it’s inevitable for him, but not Shao Yanxi. He’s a proper businessman. He should appear on financial news, as a person to be respected and honoured, not on entertainment news to be the new gossip topic du jour of the general public.
Both of them acted on instinct, and they only notice what they have each done when they’re finally back in the hotel. They look at each other, and end up smiling.
Liu Yu’an is laughing vocally, while Shao Yanxi’s expressionless face has broken out into a small smile.
Liu Yu’an has noticed that Shao Yanxi has become more expressive recently, and has grown gentler in general. He also smiles way more than before. Although he would never laugh out loud, but it used to be rare enough for him to even smile at all. He is happy about the change.
Back in their room, Shao Yanxi hugs Liu Yu’an and kisses him on the cheek, before planting his head on Liu Yu’an’s collarbone, saying, “we didn’t need to avoid it really. They wouldn’t actually publish any of this without approval.”
Since he’s well-known in the upper circles for being ‘cruel, unforgiving.’ Unless they are deliberately trying to get onto his bad side, they would not post anything.
Liu Yu’an also works out the logic, but instead of concurring, he decides to princess-carry Shao Yanxi, who is then spooked and quickly wraps his hand around his neck, asking, “wait what?”
Liu Yu’an then walks over and puts him down on the sofa before kissing his face and then praising him with a big smile, “our Yanxi sure is amazing.”
Shao Yanxi “…”
He didn’t mean that, but he’s happy that Liu Yu’an said that anyway.
Instead of taking a walk, they decide to take a boat and tour the lake instead. It’s not a big lake, but it doesn’t belong to the hotel. When they have rented a boat and are sailing out, there’s several boats on the surface already.
Some of them aren’t rowing, and instead are allowing them to drift freely on the surface.
Liu Yu’an looks then hands an oar over to Shao Yanxi, and asks, “want to paddle?”
“Yeah.”
Though Shao Yanxi was certain that nobody would dare publish anything on them without his permission, just in case, they are still in full protection gear, with big hoodies and masks.
Even that and they’re still captured on camera.
When they found out, they were on Trending already.
