Cecile felt her face sting and an immense pressure seemed to compress down on her body from the tension in the air. Estianās ire felt so oppressive that it was difficult to breathe.
With her arms wrapped around her husband, Cecile said, āThat man said heās Crown Prince Ruin of the Hyun continent.ā
āAnd?ā
Cecile had thought that Estian would at least pretend to be a little surprised, but he sounded genuinely unconcerned by the revelation. Recounting what sheād learned, she explained, āHe said that Iām the one known as the Ender and that Iām destined to save the world. Thatās why he has to take me back to his homelandā¦ā
Estianās body stiffened as he held her, and Cecile felt certain about what was about to happen next.Ā āCrown prince Ruin is dead alright.āĀ Estian wasnāt simply angry now. He was on the verge of becoming a destructive disaster in his own right. The prince had said the world would face an insurmountable catastrophe, hadnāt he? Well, if that was true, then Estian was the mostly likely culprit right now.
āHe said youāre shorter, have narrower shoulders, and are uglier than him too. And that I should leave you and marry him instead. He told me to sell my body for money, treasures, and status,ā she continued.
āI didnāt put it that way!ā Ruin cried, aggrieved by the accusation.
Cecile didnāt back down, turning to glare at him while she yelled, āBut thatās about the gist of what you said!ā
Estian gently wrapped his hand around Cecileās chin and turned it so that she was facing his way again. He didnāt want her to look at the prince. In a tender voice, he began, āI usually donāt do this often because itās such a bother, butā¦ā
āDo what?āĀ Cecile waited nervously for him to continue.
āIt seems Iāll have to pull out the tongue of that knave.ā
Cecile was speechless. Estian sounded terrifyingly serious.
The sincerity in Estianās threat made cold sweat run down Cecileās back.
