Mini theatre:
Yin Xiaoxiao, complaining: “Heitan, why don’t you let me lie on you anymore?! Do-do you dislike me?!”
Mo Laoda: “
You are too fat. I can no longer carry you anymore!”
—
“Wow! Yan Snake Grass grows really well!” Yin Xiaoxiao stared in wonder at the Yan Snake Grass in front of him. Not only had it not wilted, but it was growing well. “But the Huiyan Grass doesn’t look too good.” Sure enough, the Huiyan Grass, growing beside the Yan Snake Grass, looked very different from the Yan Snake Grass. The leaves of the grass had already yellowed somewhat, and had wilted.
For a while, Mo Laoda looked at the Huiyan Grass with a wooden face before saying, “I remember. Huiyan Grass shouldn’t be planted next to Yan Snake Grass. To explain it accurately, plants with spirituality shouldn’t be planted together otherwise the spirit of the more feeble plant will be absorbed.”
Yin Xiaoxiao stared disdainfully at Mo Laoda. “Weren’t you the one who originally planted the seeds of the Huiyan Grass and the Yan Snake Grass together?”
Mo Laoda, calm and composed, nodded, then dug up the Huiyan Grass and moved it to another place.
Yin Xiaoxiao: “
”
“Forget it. I want to see Ji Kang,” Yin Xiaoxiao mumbled. “Oh, I want to eat honey. Eh, actually I’m a little tired of eating honey.”
Mo Laoda silently looked at Yin Xiaoxiao’s distant figure. He didn’t know if there were variations in bee honey. There should be. Oh, if that was the case then he would go and get some for Xiaoxiao. Surely there was honey 1 with a different taste, which was sure to make Xiaoxiao happy.
“Ji Kang, Ji Kang! I’m back! Did you miss me?!”
“Xiaoxiao! You’ve finally returned!” Naturally, Ji Kang had tears in his eyes. What was most terrible for a ghost wasn’t to be lonely for thousands of years. What was most terrible to a ghost, one who had been lonely for thousands of years, was for the snake who had been his social interaction to suddenly disappear!
“Hehe.” The moment Yin Xiaoxiao slithered into the old tomb, Ji Kang appeared. Yin Xiaoxiao laughed foolishly. “Heitan said that he was going to go to the bottom of the cliff in order to do something. I thought that it would only be for a few days. I didn’t expect that we would stay for half a year.”
“Something that had to be done at the bottom of the cliff? And having to stay for half a year?” Ji Kang was uncertain. What was at the bottom of the cliff that required someone to stay for half a year?!
“Yes, that’s right,” Yin Xiaoxiao carelessly answered. “Also, ah, next time we go we have to take some things from you here. Mingshe said that it would only take half a year to digest those items.”
“It’s no problem. Like I said before, you can go and take some jade. Jade has more energy so it will take longer for Mingshe to digest.”
“Definitely not!” On this, Yin Xiaoxiao was adamant. “Forget before. With this jade in front of me, how could I possibly callously look on as these jade pieces are wasted for nothing! Absolutely out of the question!”
Ji Kang was silent. ‘Please! These jade stones are obviously mine, okay!’
“Goushe and Heili told me and Heitan that we should be more careful in the near future. Neither knows what’s going to happen.” Yin Xiaoxiao, puzzled, used his tail to scratch his head. “Even though I’m going to be very careful, it doesn’t feel right not knowing anything definite.”
Ji Kang looked stunned. “Be more careful? What did Goushe say?”
Yin Xiaoxiao sent Ji Kang an odd look. He’d definitely said Goushe and Heili, so why did Ji Kang only mention Goushe? “Goushe said it had a bad feeling.”
Eh? Really? Ji Kang was, once again, stunned.
“Heili said that, recently, the clouds and rain from outside made it feel uneasy, but it really didn’t know what was happening outside,” Yin Xiaoxiao also said what Heili had said.
Ji Kang’s brows wrinkled, but he didn’t say anything more. His gaze shifted to that small hole that was the entrance to the old tomb.
Yin Xiaoxiao turned his head to look. As it happened, Mo Laoda had entered and was now coiled up, quietly listening to him and Ji Kang speak. Seeing that Yin Xiaoxiao’s gaze was on himself, Mo Laoda slowly slithered over to Yin Xiaoxiao.
“I found honey. This honey is not quite the same as the honey from the previous times. You’ll surely like it.” Mo Laoda finished speaking to Yin Xiaoxiao and then turned his head to look at Ji Kang.
Ji Kang’s expression was somewhat complicated. Seeing the black color of Mo Laoda’s body, he finally understood what Yin Xiaoxiao had meant when he’d said that Mo Laoda had gone to the bottom of the cliff for half a year to do something. This Mo Laoda really was stupid in love.
“Yes! Yes!” Yin Xiaoxiao was very happy. Being able to add another food item was naturally cause for celebration, even if it was only because he could replace honey that tasted of strawberries with honey that tasted of oranges. “In that case, Ji Kang, I will leave first. I’ll come again to talk with you.” Yin Xiaoxiao waved his tail in goodbye, and followed Mo Laoda out of the old tomb.
Left in the old tomb, the corners of Ji Kang’s mouth twitched. Yin Xiaoxiao was a little scoundrel! Once he had food, he forgot everything else!
“Ah, this flavor really is different!” Yin Xiaoxiao, tasting the honey Mo Laoda had brought back, said, pleasantly surprised.
“Do you like it?”
Yin Xiaoxiao nodded with all his strength. “I like it!”
Mo Laoda smiled and used his tail to stroke Yin Xiaoxiao’s head. “Then next time I’ll look for this kind of honey to bring back for you.”
Yin Xiaoxiao nodded his head again. “Heitan, would you say that, if I keep eating honey like this, there will be no more hives on the mountain? That would be very serious! Could all the bees die out?!”
Mo Laoda shook his head. “It’s already too late for you to think of this. Don’t you worry. Every time I take honey, I don’t kill the bees. I only drive them away so they can build more hives.”
“Then that’s good! This way there’s a lot more honey to eat!” Yin Xiaoxiao was pleased.
So, Yin Xiaoxiao, the reason why you were so concerned about the bees dying off was only because you were worried that you wouldn’t have any honey in the future?! And it wasn’t because you were worried that the extinction of the bees would cause the ecosystem to be disrupted?!
Yin Xiaoxiao cheerfully ate the honey. Because he was so happy, his tail bobbed up and down.  Mo Laoda saw this and smiled. As he watched Yin Xiaoxiao’s tail sway, he could no longer stand it. He really wanted to go and bite him! By the time Mo Laoda realized what he was doing, Mo Laoda found that he had actually bitten Yin Xiaoxiao’s tail, which was still in his mouth 2 . At that moment, Yin Xiaoxiao looked at Mo Laoda with an aggrieved expression. “Heitan, what are you doing, biting my tail
.”
Mo Laoda, somewhat embarrassed, relinquished Yin Xiaoxiao’s tail and returned to the area where he had previously been standing. He faced forward with an expressionless face as though to say, “What? I didn’t do anything just now. It’s all your misperception. A misperception!”
Yin Xiaoxiao’s lips pulled into a frown, but he lowered his head and continued eating honey.
Mo Laoda, in order to prevent himself from once again going and pouncing, forced himself to think of something else to do. After some consideration, he suddenly discovered that there really was something that he needed to take care of.
“Xiaoxiao, I have to tell you something.” Mo Laoda suddenly opened his mouth to say.
Yin Xiaoxiao just so happened to have finished eating honey and was rolling around on the floor in satisfaction. “Yes, I’m listening.”
“I’m almost an adult.” Mo Laoda said, his tone serious. “Before I become an adult, I have to return to the Mo snake lands to participate in the next Selection for Clan Head .”
“Ah?” Yin Xiaoxiao was somewhat shocked and distressed. “Return to the Mo snake’s land.” Quite obviously, Yin Xiaoxiao was recalling Mo Laoda’s family. Indeed, he didn’t want to see them, alright! Those four Mo snakes were absolutely savage!
“Don’t worry. We will not stay at my home and we only have to stay for the day of the selection. Once the selection is over, we can leave.”
Yin Xiaoxiao thought about it. “Okay. But when we return from there, we’ll return to my family. I hope that, this time, Dad and Pop can agree to our relationship.”
“Of course we can. By that time I will have become Clan Head. Your Daddy and Pappy will surely not hinder our relationship.” Mo Laoda kissed Yin Xiaoxiao’s forehead but his eyes, which Yin Xiaoxiao couldn’t see, had darkened. As for the position of Clan Head, he was sure to win. Now there were no snakes that could oppose him, not even if all the Mo snakes banded together. If any snake didn’t know to not cross him then he wouldn’t mind disposing of that Mo snake and its family.
“How egotistical! It’s not up to you whether or not you’re declared Clan Head!” Yin Xiaoxiao said, disdainfully.
Mo Laoda laughed lightly. “You’re right. I’ll try my best.”
Yin Xiaoxiao raised his head high, a proud and self-satisfied expression on his face. “Of course I am right! Starting tomorrow, no, starting in a few days, you will have to work hard to become Clan Head! Then all the snakes that would bully me can be ruthlessly beaten into the ground!”

.Yin Xiaoxiao, relax. No snake with eyes would lightly bully you.
“Then, when do we leave?”
Mo Laoda thought a bit and said, “Don’t worry. It will be in a few months. In the Selection for Clan Head , I am the youngest. The Selection will start by the time I become an adult.”
Yin Xiaoxiao looked at Mo Laoda’s thick and solid body, and the corners of his mouth twitched. “Heitan, you’re still not considered an adult even like this? I mean to say, if you claimed that you were a hundred years old, snakes would believe it. I say
”
Mo Laoda glanced at Yin Xiaoxiao, who fell silent and did not dare to continue speaking. “Okay, it’s decided. We will stay at home for a month or two, then wander the mountain for a few months, and then we can go to the Mo snake gathering area.”
“Ah? We also are going to go on a journey again?” Yin Xiaoxiao wailed. “No! I’m a very tired snake, okay?!”
“Not okay!” Mo Laoda bluntly refused Yin Xiaoxiao. “Little Idiot, your weight is fat 3 , a false health! Have you ever seen a snake who started to gasp after slithering for five minutes? Have you ever seen a snake rest for ten minutes after slithering for ten minutes?! You have to exercise more, and you know it!”
Yin Xiaoxiao was aggrieved. ‘Originally, you disliked that I was thin so it was you who made me fat! Now, you dislike that I am fat so you are making me exercise! Make up your mind!
Yin Xiaoxiao turned his head and didn’t speak, as though to say “I’m offended!” Mo Laoda felt it was beneath his dignity to shake his head. “It’s no use feeling offended! You have to exercise!”

Should I tell you that, while on the road, Yin Xiaoxiao lay on Mo Laoda’s body and let Mo Laoda carry him?! Should I tell you that, while Yin Xiaoxiao lay on Mo Laoda’s body, he fell asleep sprawled out, causing Mo Laoda to very carefully balance so as to not let Yin Xiaoxiao fall off?! Should I tell you that Yin Xiaoxiao, who had been lying on Mo Laoda’s back and eating honey, accidentally dropped some honey onto Mo Laoda’s body and, so as to not allow any honey to come to waste, licked the honey off of Mo Laoda’s body, and Mo Laoda forced himself to not tremble and cause Yin Xiaoxiao to discover that he was aroused! No! I am not going to tell you! I am not going to tell you anything!
T/N: So, good news is that Yin Xiaoxiao is no longer unhealthily thin! Bad news is that, unfortunately he apparently now looks like me after quarantine!
