Episode 12 ā The Past Will Follow UsĀ Everywhere
āThe guildmaster wants to see you. You two go ahead.ā
I overheard Levielās words, and for some reason, I said something back to the two eyes that turned to me at once.
It is true that I came to Feazel because Jorha asked me to form a party, but in reality, I havenāt even completed the procedures for joining a party yet, and I donāt even have a pass to go deep into the depths.
So I guess Iām not wanted here.
Iām trying to appeal to them with my eyes, but Jorja and Ornest are not happy.
He was giving me a stern, ongoing look that said, āYouāre going too.ā
āBesides, I donāt know anything about Fiesel. I wanted to take a look around the guild, and while you guys are listening, Iāll do what I can.ā
Besides, if I listened to the conversation with Jorha and the others, I would just be wasting my time since I didnāt know anything.
If itās the caseā
āIām going to go talk to this Misha kid over there.ā
So, I say to him, you guys go to the guild master.
āā¦ā¦ What are you talking about, Alec? You, too.ā
āāOkay, okayā
The words of two people who are covered.
Ornestās statement, which should have been, āOf course youāre coming with me,ā was brilliantly interrupted by Jorjaās words.
But unlike Ornest, who glared at me sullenly, Jorha didnāt seem to be offended by my words.
āOkay, here we go, Ornest.ā
And as soon as he said that, Jorha grabbed Ornestās arm with gusto and went underneath Leviel, pulling him with a force that was unbelievable for his small stature.
āHey, hey! Jorha, what the hell are you thinking? Why donāt you take Alec with you?ā
He had no doubt that Jorha was of the same opinion as he was.
Two beautifully broken voices.
Ornest was shouting at Jorja, one half of the group, with a hint of frustration in his voice.
Weāre all members of the same party. Itās not nice to be left out!
Iām not sure if youāre counting Clasia as one of your own. Iām not sure what to make of this, but Iām sure itās a good idea.
āYes, yes. Itās not like Alec is going anywhere, this time, you know? Come on, letās go.ā
And even though Ornest was flailing about and resisting to get me involved until the very end, his efforts were in vain as he was pulled by Jorja and taken to Leviel, who was amazed that he was still the same.
Soon, silence fell over the place again.
āIām glad you didnāt follow them to ā¦ā¦.ā
Somewhat caringly.
It was Misha, a member of the guild, who asked me modestly.
āIām sure the guildmaster would have understood if Ornest had forced me to come with him.ā
ā- And, Alec, youāre going to join Ornest and his party, arenāt you?
He would also continue to ask for confirmation.
āWell, yeah. I think thatās why Jorha came to pick me up in Gardana.ā
If they welcomed me to the party, I was going to take advantage of their generosity.
Besides, I had made a promise to Jorha, although I only recognized it as a kind of joke.
One day, he said, weāll have another party.
If Jorha, Ornest, and Klasia are receptive, we can attack together again.
That was my state of mind without any falsehood.
But thatās not the same thing as this.
āBut if I follow him now, weāll just get into trouble. The other A-ranked people will wonder who this guy is. Especially if itās Fiesel, who has a system of pass cards. It would have been better if the only people the guild master called were people I knew, but that doesnāt seem to be the case.ā
In addition to Ornest and Jorha, I saw about ten other people who looked like adventurers heading toward us.
So I knew I shouldnāt follow him.
āThe adventurers here arenāt like nobles, and I donāt think that guildmaster is the kind of person whoās going to give a damn. ā¦ā¦ But I canāt help but be wary. ā¦ā¦ Oh, I really hate it.ā
Four years ago, I would have gone along with Ornestās words without thinking about it.
However, I had tried to stay out of sight as long as I could, and the survival skills I had acquired during my time as a court magician prevented me from doing so.
He felt that he should choose the option that would cause as little disturbance as possible.
I really shouldnāt be a court wizard. I had been aware of this for a long time, but now I felt it again.
āā¦ā¦ disgusting, is it?ā
āItās supposed to be my idea, but I just donāt like it.ā
āā¦?ā
āOh, no, itās nothing. Iām sorry for letting out such a strange complaint. Anyway, thereās something Iād like to ask you, if you donāt mind telling me.ā
As Mishaās head tilted back, I came to my senses. It was not the kind of story I wanted to share with someone I had never met before, I chided myself, and decided to forcefully digress.
āIf thereās anything I can do to help, please let me know.
āThat would be great. Then go to ā-.ā
ā-I would like to know the number of dungeons that exist here in Feazel, and the highest level of each. I want to know where Iām going as soon as possible.

āā¦ā¦, hmm. Alec Huguette is not participating?ā
It was the guild master, Leviel, who said this with a knowing look on his face.
āBut I think you did the right thing. Aside from me, who was directly in his hands, not everyone has recognized him yet.ā
So Iāll add a word that he shouldnāt be out of line in these situations just yet.
āIām not sure what to make of this. In that sense, heās a witty guy, unlike you.ā
āā¦ā¦ Shut up.ā
A spike of words directed at Ornest, who had a pouting look on his face.
But he didnāt seem to be arguing with me, as if he understood that it was the right thing to do.
āā-, the wizard of the Five Colors.ā
And then.
The voice of a third party, not Jorha, Ornest, or Leviel, suddenly interrupted.
āā¦The party that beat the highest number of dungeons in the Royal Capital of Gardana by 68 layers. One of the wizards, who was known as āFive-Colored Goshikiā, was named Alec Huguette.ā
āā¦You know a lot, donāt you, Christa?ā¦ā
Then Ornest calls out the name of a woman ā- Christa who has interrupted the conversation.
Her face is so clear that it reminds me of a piece of pottery, and she is not very friendly.
Her voice had little inflection, and she just said things in an indifferent manner.
āHuh. I didnāt know he was called by that name.
Leviel takes advantage of it.
The floor boss of the 68th layer was a multi-headed dragon named Hydra. The way to defeat it was to hit each of its five heads with magic of the appropriate attribute at the same time, so that the damage would finally come through. It was after that battle that Alec started to be called the Five-Colored One.ā
Yorha explained that he was called āFive-Colored Oneā because he had successfully defeated a magician by performing what can only be described as a crazy act of deploying magic of five different attributes at the same time and hitting the target at the same time.
āOh. But how did Christa know about it?ā
āI had tried the dungeons in ā¦ā¦ Kingās Landing. But I couldnāt break through the 68th layer due to compatibility issues. So I looked up the party that did.ā
So I know the name Alec Huguette, Krista replies.
While we were talking about this, nearly ten adventurers had finished gathering in the room.
As soon as he had finished counting the number of people and saying, āā¦ā¦ Well, thatās about right,ā he slapped the pile of papers on his desk with a powerful bang to get attention.
A few sheets of paper fluttered down with the impact, but Leviel didnāt seem to pay any attention to them and continued speaking.
āIām sure you already know why Iāve gathered you all here, but Iāll tell you again. The location is the 64th layer of Tank Kill. Iām going to make up a party of Christaās party members who are there now, and a party that will go to her rescue.ā
However, one of the papers that fluttered down happened to catch Jorjaās eye.
Knowing Levielās personality well, she knew that the pile of papers, all of them, were pitiful documents that had been branded as an afterthought by the troublesome guild master.
So I didnāt pay attention to it.
In response to the document, which requested the dispatch of a highly qualified healer.
Crown Prince Regulus is seriously injured in a dungeonā¦ā¦In the event that you are not aware of the name of the crown prince of Gardana, Jorha turned away from the fallen document as if nothing had happened, and listened to Levielās words.
